Have begun to use sketchup and I believe it's only a trial version that provides free access for 10 hours. After that, it appears if have to purchase the license at several hundred dollars. That's too steep for me. Is there some free version somewhere? I use a Mac

I've been using SketchUp since it came out. There has never been any charge.

I think they have a pro version that they charge for, but I doubt you need it.

You must have gotten a trial version of Sketchup Pro. The free version is available, I believe it is now called Sketchup Make. If you go to Sketchup.com, click download then select personal projects, it will take you to the download.

When you download the free version they give you a trial version of there pro as well. When I downloaded I also got a copy of 'layout' and 'style builder' which are their pro version.
