Free - An Intermediate SketchUp Tutorial - Part 2

Well, after a week in St. Croix I came home and was immediately put down by a week of the Flu. But now I am back and just released An Intermediate SketchUp Tutorial - Part 2 The Video Version. You can find it at http://www.srww.com/blog/?p=1450 . This part is broken into two videos because of length. Be sure to read my post before viewing the videos for an explanation of the content.

Part 3 will be out soon and it will leave circular curves behind in favor of non-circular curves; those we use to form with French Curve drawing tools. Stay tuned.

Problem with doing tutorial 2

I am at the point where I am trying to draw the mortise in the front leg. However I can not get the push pull tool to select the rectangle in the leg. I have tried everything and can not get it to work. What am I doing wrong? So far everything has been very easy until here. Any suggestions.

Dave,

I have a few ideas of what you may be doing wrong. But it would help if you sent me your .skp file so I can look at it. My email address is [email protected]. I will look at it and get back to you quickly.

Problem Solved

I started all over from scratch and it worked like a charm. I have used it enough now that it only took me a half hour to redo it. I love it!!!!! I have tried to use auto cad in the past and it was so unintuitive that I gave up early. I am a retired mechanical engineer who started my career as a draftsman. This works the way I think. Great job with the tutorials. My email address is [email protected].
