Wood verification..

Could anyone tell me what kind of wood this may be.. It is a heavy hard wood..

Certainly looks like spalted wood to start with. Possibly maple.

Not maple, and probably not spalted. Could be zebra wood, marble wood, or ?

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...
