What species is this?
It's sitting on top of cherry and walnut I picked that was in the trash can at my lumber yard.
it's 4/4 about 4' long piece

Get me a little closer look at the actual grain if you would. Looks like hickory, but could be soft maple. Closer look at the grain details will let me be more accurate.

Could be Pecan. But Pecan and Hickory look a lot alike. Both are very hard.
