What kind of wood is this??? Please help!

I am refinishing my first piece of furniture, which happens to be a desk, and I have no idea what kind of wood this is. Can anyone help me. Any staining advice would also be appreciated. THanks so much for your time!

The center part is pretty clearly mahogany, in my opinion. The border strips looks so familiar but I can't put my finger on the name. Curly Anigrie? In any case I doubt either one would take stain any differently.

Just my thoughts.

The outside border looks a whole lot like ribbon sapele.

thanks so much for your help! I am pretty green when it comes to identifying and refinishing wood.

I really just want to deepen that color so I should use a natural stain, right?
