Would you buy a used car from this putz?

IMO the people that give these "testimonials" are just paid schills.

BACK AWAY FROM THE TEDS!

Your money is better spent elsewhere.

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my grandfather did — in his
sleep. Not yelling and screaming like the passengers in his car.

I have no idea who this Ted guy is - maybe I should consider myself lucky. But if I were brand new to woodworking and looking for a jump start - you folks who are knowledgeable about this Ted guy, wouldn't you consider this a starting point or is Ted that bad? I can name a few reputable magazines which have published bad plans and some good plans in the same issue. But there was a time when I didn't know anything about woodworking and I needed guidance. That was before the forum days.

So put away all your knowledge, pretend to be a newbie and consider Ted...

Its' never hot or cold in New Hampshire... its' always seasonal.

From what I have read, there is no "Ted" person. I also read that some/many of the plans are copy righted and copied without permission. I do not have the DVD so cannot confirm. I also cannot confirm the level of detail in the plans.

Most legitimate plans go for $5 - $10 each.

If something looks to be too good a deal, it normally is not a good idea for me to proceed.

I am suspicious of how someone can make a profit selling a DVD for so many plans if they created the plans. So many sites have links to the "Ted" site, so likely "Ted" is pulling in people by offering them a finders fee for each DVD sold.

I do not work from plans, but I have a friend who would be unable to make anything without a plan, detailed directions, cut list etc.

I would not recommend the "Ted" disc to my friend. I would recommend he purchase whatever plan he needs from e.g., Shop Smith, Wood magazine, etc.

I believe the TED thing is a pyramid scam....aka "multi-level marketing". That's why there are so many people selling it. I have never seen the cd but I understand it is poor quality, poorly indexed, some copyright-infringed, loosely organized plans, many of which could be found free in other places.

Please step away from the TED.

I don't really understand that without trying, you guys can come to a decision that Ted's woodworking is a scam. Come'on let's be fair here. Don't jump the gun. I can tell you that it is 't a pyramid scam, even if it is, it had nothing to do with people that buys the programme. Anyway stop being biased ok.

Come'on I'm not being nasty, I'm offering my five cents worth of opinion here, by the way I never force anyone to pay for Ted woodworking stuff. Let's get it straight, I'm offering my humble opinion on this product period. It has nothing to do with scam and pyramid as other had put it. And honesty speaking there has nothing to do with any BS. If you guys are biased let it be. Once again it is my own HUMBLE OPINION on that product, don't get everything mess up and spin out of control here. Ok Gentlemen.

OK, so here's how I feel on this one: Stevie is clearly biased TOWARD Ted's plans, so I think that is another point for Bias.

We all have our own opinions. This is a forum and we do expect dialog and different opinions.

Some topics are "hot buttons" and perhaps "Ted's Plans" is one of the hot button topics.

You will not be surprised that this is not the first "Ted" thread. Let's just say there is a lot of "negative energy" toward the "Ted's Plans" product.

As a new forum member I hope you are able to participate in woodworking discussions. Based on how earlier threads evolved, I would not recommend trying to persuade other forum members on the merits of "Ted's Plans". Things will not go well.

So if you truly were here with no ill intentions.....why no actual woodworking discussions? No other posts, no other content?

JHarris, you beat me to the punch. I was looking for that vid when you were posting it.
If it is not 'multi-level marketing" it is "affiliate marketing".....same thing almost. I do not need an "open mind" to know this is not something anyone should purchase. Go to the links below, scroll down and watch the vids:

Steve Ramsey had a video out that explained the Turds Woodworking scam in great detail.

I can't find it now. I suspect that Turd threatened some sort of legal action and Steve had to dump the video.

The last video I posted was probably Steve's response. You'll notice he doesn't mention Turd by name and talks about 14k plans scams.

This is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

The moderators should post a "Ted's" link about very two months or so. Especially during the summer TV re-runs. I also would hope that the moderators will terminate one-post wonder access.

I just went to Ted's site and quoting with a copy and paste:

"Here's the BIG problem: Most plans and woodworking magazines are complete garbage."

So by extension we have to ask "What about Ted's plans, then?"

Use the right tool for the job.
