what is this...
Hey guys, I saw some of these at a garage sale. I dont know what they are or how to use them. Ive looked online cant find them till I came across this vid on youtube and of course he talks about everything on the table but the one im wondering about. Lol Im assuming its a clamp. Heres a screen shot. Its the one on HIS far right hand on corner of bench. Im sure someone here can educate me.... tia.

Got a few of ekmmyself. They're for holdin doohickies. GLAD I COULD HELP!

It's a caul clamp. Made to clamp the flats of the boards together during glue up to keep them aligned with each other. Still need clamps going side to side to squeeze the edges being glued together. I usually just clamp a couple of hardwood 2 x 2's to do the same thing.

actually, these do clamp in both directions. Not sure how much force they generate though.
