wet apple drying question

Hello...

Again I am working on a didgeridoo and have decided to give it a try and to work with wet wood (apple) .. Its a pretty thick log , with 8 inch diameter and about 5 foot long. It would take too long for me to dry it and thats why i want to shape it in wet conditions and then let it sit and dry. this will shorten the drying process a 10o times..

Now as i do with all my logs, i seal the ends to ensure evenly drying.. but the bark is still on most of them ..

So if i would roughly shape my apple didgeridoo and then let it dry, should i seal the whole log? to mimic a bark and to ensure and even drying?! - or just the ends...?

I am trying to avoid cracks ..but i could handle a few ones tho..

Thanks for any help :)

From my limited experiences, apple is one of the hardest woods to dry without cracks.

That bowl was perfect right up until that last cut...
