Wall cabinet build

Hello all! I'm putting together a hanging wall cabinet. Dimensions are 39"H x 41"W x 9"D before face frame. Joints are dadoes and rabbets. Glue only.

Measuring across diagonal corners for square yields a difference of 1/16". Is this within generally accepted tolerance, or am I just too critical.

I'll include a photo. The clamp is there because I mishandled a lift and had to reglue a couple of plys that separated at the joint.

You're fine. Even if there were doors going on that, you'd be OK.

Doors will be going on it. Inch and a half ash face frame first. Then overlaid ash rail & stile doors with 1/4" BB panels

If you're putting a face frame on it, then just make that perfectly square and install it over the carcase. I guarantee that tiny bit out of square won't matter at all!

Clean work, BTW.

If you are withing 1/16" measuring across the corners it is as close to perfect as it gets in woodworking.

For a cabinet that large I think you also need fasteners too.

Thanks to both for the responses. I'll relax a bit about the difference. I have a daughter who regularly accuses me of being anal. I appreciate the info.

Steve - I'll be screwing & gluing 1 x 4 ledgers (I think they're called that) under the top 3 shelves using pocket screws into the shelves and into the carcase sides. I'll screw the cabinet into wall studs through these with cabinet screws.

Does this approach sound sturdy to you. What about the face frame? Should I use mechanical fasteners with the TB III To mount it to the carcase? No paint to hide filler. I will spray a lacquer to finish it. I couldn't justify buying a lot of finish for the mahogany stool that you and Randy Reed were so helpful with. Then I had an epiphany! Just make more stuff and spray it all! I have a rolling cabinet project next, then I spray 'em all.

TIA - Ron
