If you are not looking for that specific chair there should be plans online for an adirondack chair.

It is incredible how many search results for Unwharrie chair plans lead to good old Ted.

I have a feeling this is their design, Unwharrie, so plans may be hard to come by.

No, he's just a nuisance. He's selling woodworking plans and tries to advertise here every couple of weeks under a different name and we keep having to ban him. Personally I don't know anything about the plans. Rumor has it the plans are not proven and you are likely to make a bunch of parts that don't fit together correctly.

Ted is a borderline scam. He just copied a bunch of other peoples' plans and put them online. Some are big readable patterns, some are copied from magazines and you can't read them, and most are pure junk. That step by step thing he touts is garbage. I got a couple ideas, but because there is no way to get hold of anyone to cancel I'm just going to make the best of it. They won't answer emails, there is no phone number, and you will have no contact with them direct other than what's online once they have your money.

Isn't he down your way, Steve?

HJ

Got took on that one

I have no idea where he's from. Every time I ban him he's got a different isp address.

Really the only difference in that chair is the seat dips about 3" for your sitter down. It shouldn't be that hard to copy from the picture especially since you've made Adirondack chairs.

Personally, i would simply build it from the photo.

I've built thousands of pieces of furniture and have never used any plans

Good Point - - looks pretty straight forward - - then you can do it to your specs. Just take notes and experiment a little bit.

You can always purchase one of the chairs and then use it as a template for as many as you want to make. Just a thought.

steve, anyone with a broadband ISP can just reset their router to get a new IP, so unfortunately bans wont work these days :/

anyway, Id speculate, even if you found a plan for such a chair (or one described as such) the specific dimensions may not be equivalent. when I search google for the chair, I get lots of pictures and I cant say any are a good match for the proportions of the one you posted.

If you sat in one, is there anyway you can go sit in it again? bring some paper and maybe scribe some dimensions and shapes? measure the height of the arms, scribe the pattern of the sides and back rails.

According to the rules anyone that comes here for the purpose of selling gets banned. I realize this doesn't help much but it causes them to have to join the forum over and over. With the system we have here it just takes a couple clicks for someone to be gone so it's more trouble to join then for one of us to ban someone. I remember one time Ted was here a whole three minutes for I banned him.

you need to create a black hole... so like... they dont know they are banned... everything looks fine to them... but nothing that they post shows up to anyone else.

lol that would be pretty evil actually.

You might do a search for "Jake's Chair", if you're not familiar with it. Plans are free from many sources, & it seems to be a proven design.

I've built a few adirondack chairs, but never used any plans. The Jake's design seems to have a lot of fans though.
