Tool cabinet
Hello! I'm new to this forum and am relatively new to this new obsession! I'm planning a solid wood hanging tool cabinet and have a question. The case and doors will be dovetailed with a panel insert for the door fronts. The back is where I have the question. I would like to hang the cabinet via French cleats but would rather them not show from the sides. Should I bury a frame and panel and mortise in the cleats? This seems like a waste of interior space. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just set the back in, the thickness of the french cleat you are going to use. Rabbet the cabinet sides deeper.
