Tape residue on krylon max spray paint
Hey there guys! I had a quick question and I will try to be as detailed as possible with my situation. I make cornhole boards all the time, and recently I started making stencils to make things run a little quicker. I spray 3m adhesive on the backs of the stencils before I put them on.
I've never had any problem until last night. There was some excess tape on a stencil that got spray and long story short it left a noticeable residue on the background color (red).
Unfortunately I don't have picture readily available. I'm uncertain of how to get it off without damaging the paint or re-applying another background layer. I've heard vegetable oil works well but I believe that will pull up the paint.
I also apply polyurethane generously to give the cornholes a slick surface. I didn't know if the urethane would cover up the tape residue or not. I really don't want to do touch up paint over it for the simple fact that it's tough to blend.
I'm open to ideas and suggestions!
