table saw vibration

I have an old Rockwell/ Delta contrators saw and my question is, what causes it to vibrate when I start it up and during operation . Is it the type of belt ? is there a certain brand name or type of belt for table saws ? or is it a combination of the belt and the motor because it just hangs off the back of the saw ?

The belt has a set to it causing most of the vibrations. Cast pulleys are not that great either.
A linked belt and machined pulleys will make a worlds difference.

I don't know if this particular set will fit your saw.

Remove the blade, start the saw. Does the vibration stop? If so ,try a different blade. Some saws vibrate on start up and the run smoothly. If saw vibrates on start up and run then the bearings may be shot. Try the saw with belts removed, does vibrate still? If so the motor is the problem, not the saw.

Is this something new? How long have you used this saw?
