table saw router table extension sagging

Long story short I realized the hard way that the router table that I have in my table saw wing (the ones that they sell at Rockler) has a sag in the middle of it. This creates an issue when trying to run a long piece across it.

Is there any way to "un-sag" it and stiffen it up? I was thinking about trying to disconnet it and try to some how clamp it upside down to my table saw top in an effort to flatten it. Then try to add some additional reinforcement underneath it to prevent it from sagging again.

Any other suggestions? other then buying a new top or building a new one?

Depending on the amount of sag, you may be able to straighten it out by clamping some hardwood support beams on the under side of the table. If clamping to the beams takes the sag out, I would fasten these beams to the underside of the table for the extra support you need and to prevent future sagging.

There is a very fine line between a "hobby" and a "mental illness"
