Staining painting MDB lumber

I have built a worktable completely out of red oak and mdb for the work surface. In fact, it is 3 layers of 3/4 thick mdb. I put some oak stain on it and it looks okay; however, I need to know if it is okay to put satin poly on it likr I will do on the red oak? Thanks.

If you mean MDF as in fiberboard you can use polyurethane on it. I would put a thick coat on any edges of it and let it completely dry first or it will soak up the poly like a sponge.
