Routing cutting board

I'm working on an end grain cutting board, and when it's done, I'd like to cut finger slots in each end and cut a juice groove on it. Does anyone have any suggestions for router bits I should use, and would you recommend using a bit with a 1/2" shank or would a 1/4" shank work?

this bit is the most common for finger grooves.
an "ogee" will also work if you want a fancy groove.
1/4 or 1/2" shank will work well.
take small bites at a time to avoid burning the wood.

I'm real big on 1/2" shank whenever you can. Less chatter, less chance of coming loose and less chance of breaking.
breaking.
