The right tools for the job?
I have been having a difficult time leveling out this piece of (maple) for what I would like to craft into a 3-legged table. My wood working skills are amateur to say the least so I'm hoping for some feedback regarding the proper tools to get this piece level. So far I have used a 6 1/2 inch block plane to flatten it out the best that I can although I can imagine this is not the most efficient way to plane as it's extremely time consuming not to mention for every spot that I level I somehow manage to create a new inconsistency elsewhere.
Rather than to just take it to the sawmill and have it planed what would you all recommend for getting this piece leveled?
