Removing Staples from Metal Pilasters on cabinet

I need to remove the staples i've stapled into metal pilasters on a cabinet, and am looking for the quickest and most effective way to do so.

I think you will need to post a picture to get a very good answer on that. If the metal was thin enough you could staple through it I think you would tear the metal up getting the staple out. If that is the case you might have to use a dremel tool with a metal cut off wheel to grind the head of the staple off.

I'll second the dremel tool suggestion.

HOWEVER

I would also be interested how you managed to staple a metal leg.

It might have had holes drilled just right for staples. When we used to put monorail drawer slides in cabinets they had holes just right you could staple them to the faceframes of the cabinets with narrow crown staples. Unless you needed to remove the hardware it worked really well.

just a few questions ...

Metal staples into a sheet metal cabinet, right?
How thick is the sheet metal? Is it just 2 layers?
Is there any wood on the inside of the cabinet where the staples are?
How long are the legs on the staples and are they folded over?
What size are the staples?
What the the bridge between the legs look like... flat ... rounded?
Does the bridge or head of the staple stick above the surface at all?
How where they installed... by hand with a hammer or pneumatic or electric stapler?
Are you removing the pilasters permanently and can they be "destroyed" if need be?

Photos would help.

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)
