Where are you? I believe Record is made in England. You might contact the company and see if you can get the parts from them. http://www.recordpower.co.uk/category/bandsaws

I looked at that site out of curiosity, and the BS12 is a discontinued model. They say no spares available. Reminds me of some British cars I owned in my earlier years.

I guess that is what the BS stands for.

I hadn't heard of that brand before. The blade guide could probably be fitted with another brand. The miter gauge you might be able to find one off of a small portable table saw that might work. Myself personally I glued strips of wood in the miter gauge slots so the top would be flush so the wood wouldn't hang on the groove when cutting. I've never had a use for a miter gauge on a bandsaw. The shopsmith bandsaw I have the aluminum table insert got mangled when a small piece of wood got sucked through the slot. I just fabricated one out of some steel sheet metal I had that was 1/16" thick. The Winner bandsaw I have has a place for the table insert that is about 3/8" deep. When I got the saw it had a piece of wood for a insert. I made one out of corian to replace it.

I won't kid you it won't be easy to install generic blade guides to your saw. You kind of have to get some info from the seller about the physical size and perhaps get a machinist to fit them to your saw. I believe I bought one for a saw I didn't ask questions and it was too big and couldn't use it. I ended up having to fabricate parts to repair the original one on the saw. They sell guides on ebay. These look pretty good. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-ACCURA-1...QAAOSwc0FUosHe

The saw just needs some kind of roller bearing behind the blade to keep from pushing the blade off the saw when cutting. Then it needs a couple of blocks or bearings on each side of the blade to keep it from twisting.

You might post some close up pictures of your saw. Maybe we can add a little more to the story.
