osage orange clock
so I'm going to build a clock never done this before but I have a pack of six movements that I picked up on sale a few months ago on sale a hobby lobby does anyone have any idea on how to do the numerals I don't want to use the plastic stick on ones I want to use wood but I really don't want to just cut squares of wood so any ideas Please... Keep in mind I don't own a scroll saw and I broke my jigsaw you gotta be careful what you buy from harbor freight lol

Do you have a wood burner? A cheap one isn't but $20-$30. You could stencil out your numerals and then burn over the stencil using different tips for different effects. Just a thought

you could drill holes at the hour marks (30 degrees) and insert a dowel of a differant color species.

Do you have a bandsaw? You could cut them out with a 3/16 blade. Shouldn't be to hard to do.
Sounds good. Ill be checking on this one.

I thought about a wood burner but I think there is to much that could turn out wrong I am no artist in that respect anyway and as far as the dowels I have a [email protected]#t ton of red wood dowels so I might try that thanks guys

1:00? ill more than like be sawing logs and not the ones in my garage. Laughing!!!!!
Looks like you'll have to use a jig saw or a coping saw. Can't wait for it.

A coping saw would work like Dom says. Not too expensive if you don't already have one.

Tommie Hockett 01-19-2013 02:43 AM
