Organ facade "sonic rain"

I built this for a church in El Segundo California.
They bought a new standard electronic piano and wanted me to design and build something more fitting for their space.
The look I was going for was the appearance of rain dancing off a pond.

The wood discs are at different levels to allow sound to pass through.

Church organ facade.

Really nice piece, from material to design to finish. I love the stepped discs! Thanks for sharing.

Very pretty.

Those who say it cannot be done shouldn't interrupt the people doing it.

That looks amazing! I have to ask though how the discs were made and attached? Is that a ripple effect towards the top as well or am I just seeing a few more glares from lights? Again, Great job.

Organ facade "sonic rain"

Hi oliver
The top has soft waves in it.
Photos attached

Hi Alex
The sound isn't effected.
The digital piano uses a sound board to give a more authentic sound.

I'm curious, were the discs made on a lathe or with rosette cutters.

Great piece Niall.
Wonderful design and execution. I'm sure you and the church members are proud of it.
