One large air cleaner or 2 smaller?

So, I'm setting up my new shop. I just can't tolerate as much dust as I used to. Shop is 24 x 34, 7'ceilings with a rather large carrying beam running down the 34' length. Not a giant space but plenty for a solo.
I could buy a Jet or similar air cleaner with 1,000 cfm , or buy 2 smaller 400 cfm units for the same price. Just wondering if there's any advantage to either approach.

Thanks for any advice

I'm no expert, so I'll just describe my solution. I have a 12x22 shop and use a shop built air cleaner. It sits on the floornin corner and has two outlets. One is at floor level and the other is upatnthe cieling. The floor outlet is aimed to blow around the room and the ceiling outlet is aimed to blow diagonally across the ceiling. The fan (a castoff HVAC air handler) is a two speed unit (700/1,000 cfm). It's pretty effective with a 4" thick pleated filter. Every so often, I fire up the air compressor, switch the air cleaner on high, and blownte shop out to clean off the horizontal spaces.
