I've been working on my dollhouse
for a while. Finally got the build complete and am now working on paint, pergo, carpet, roofing, etc.
It's been a funny quest.
First I go to Home Depot and spend an hour with my wife picking out different colors for the rooms, trim, etc. Dear mister paint man, I need 18 different samples. "Gonna try a lot of colors, eh?" "No, actually each one is enough for the entire room..."
Then I find a nice flat green tile carpet that will look good as grass - flat is good because dolls can stand on it. Call around and no one has it in stock. Finally find one HD that does have it. But it's back in receiving, and they have to get the forklift out, rip the plastic off the rolls, put it up on the machine, etc. The guy then turns to me and says "how many feet do you need?" "Um...one linear foot."
The guys at the Habitat for Humanity Restore know me, too. I'm the guy who buys one carpet tile or one strip of lineoleum.
It's been a fun project
