Need Some Help.

I purchased a solid wood Door at a Resale Shop, Its 1.25" thick, and have plans to build a Mobil work top with A set of old Cabinets, for some tools, I guess it will be an assembley Table also. What I need help with is How to attach the 4x4 Legs? I dont really want to run a Lag screw through the Top if I can help it, But if I have to I can always Carpet the entire top, Or counter sink and Plug? Whats your Idea.

Lag screws through the top wouldn't be my first choice either. I would probably put a 1x3 skirt around it and attach the legs to the corners. Cross braced of course.

A bench that small I would just build the framework out of 2x4's, legs and all. Then you could run screws from the back side of the skirt on a angle like pocket screws to fasten the door down.
