Hey all. I am relatively new when it comes to identifying birchwood, maple and beech. There are times when it seems easy, other times then I stun myself by misidentifying them out of pure error on my part. I have some photos here of a few boards which I believe to be birch, the last photo I am unsure of what it is but the first couple I am guessing are birch. I could be wrong through. Any help is much appreciated!
Sorry for my inital post. I accidentaly uploaded the odd board third. Wow I wouldnt have guessed teak or mahogany. Its a really light weight board and it cut really really oddly. It was extremely dusty and it literally peeled back from the sawblade in a dusty clump of fibrous cutout, not normally a thin slice like say oak or even pine. I am not surprised at the others being maple. I have been looking for some birch boards for a while now and I guess Ill have to just take a trip to the sawmill. They know much better than I do and instead of me rifling through multiple iold woodpiles, I can just tell them birch is what I need and that's it. Thanks a lot for your help!
The 1st, 2nd and 4th boards look like they might be Cherry.
The 3rd board could be Teak or Luan. I don't think it's Mahogany.
