Name this Wood

Hello Folks!

If you could please help me identify this type of wood I would really appreciate it. It's an antique 19th century cylinder music box and I have no idea what wood it is.

Thanks so much!

The finish is so blotchy it is difficult to tell. My best guess would be mahogany.
