Do what we did - bought all (plywood) cabinets from Schuler via LOWES. We put our energy into designing the kitchen and doing the installation. Granite counter was done professionally. I also did the plumbing and electrical alterations and upgrades and the new fan. We ripped out the old kitchen except for literally the kitchen sink. New (floor) cabinets were put on temporary rolling bases until they were finally planted - so we could use them M-Fri wile we both worked. This was a fantastic approach for us. The final kitchen is great, there is nothing that we would change. The peninsula has cabinets back to back - for more storage and more counterspace. I bought special cabinet clamps to help with installation, and when all done I donated the clamps to the local tool library. Electrical range was swapped out for new gas range as one of the last items.
