Intarsia

Do we have any intarsia artists here?

As I have mentioned before, I am newly getting back into working with wood, after 11 years away from it.
As I was looking through a large cardboard box last week of old patterns I had, I came across 4 old intarsia projects I had started years ago and never finished...... but probably will work on them again soon.

so anyway, does anyone else here do any intarsia work? If so, lets see some pics and details of your work

If I can find some old pics of some of my old work, I will scan them and post up (yes, I said scan them, when I was woodworking before, I still hadn't had a digital camera, lol)

I've done many intarsia pieces and I thoroughly enjoy it. I'm looking forward to seeing your pieces and hopefully, I will get around to posting some of mine on this thread for you as well.

There is a very fine line between a "hobby" and a "mental illness"

Thanks Ken.
after posting this I searched the site for intarsia, and I saw a few of your pieces, as with every other project you do, they all looked great

ok, folks, I finally found a couple of pics of some of my old work from many moons ago. I am sorry about the pic quality, these are cell phone pics of old 4x6 pictures. (hey, it's the best I could do for now)

anyhow, the deer, if I remember right is about 31 inches tall, made from pine, oak, walnut and poplar.
the angel is made of oak and poplar, she is only about 12 inches or so tall

Intarsia

I have done about 40 intarsia, mostly disney characters for my wife. I just completed a Hudson car and a Cooper car for my new grandsons Hudson & Cooper. I get most of my patterns from coloring books since I am not artistically inclined ( can't draw a good crooked line). Attached are a couple of pictures. I don't sell these due to copyright problems with Disney and labor time to make. If you have any questions I can help you with let me know.
