Inlaying Wood Shavings

One of my projects I would like to do involves the possibility of inlay some wood shavings I have. My question is how to do it? After routing out a section where the inlay will be. These are relatively small areas.

So do you just mix glue and the shavings or is there a technique?

Thanks

Sure...

Some sort of shape (rect. maybe) for the 12, 3, 6, and 9 of a clock. I plan on using a jig to route out the shape. Maybe 1/8" or less deep. The I want to fill the shape with my shavings of some danish bog oak. But I'm unsure of what would be the best option to get a "full" look, tightly packed together.

Does that make more sense?
