How to build a bonnet top?
I'm putting the final touches on my secretary desk. It has a broken pediment top with gooseneck molding. I'm not quite sure what the best technique is for making the curved "bonnet" that sits behind the gooseneck molding.

Apparently Norm, in a video, uses veneer backed with canvas. Anyone have any experience with this? I was also thinking of kerf-bending a thin, wide sheet of solid wood, with or without veneer.
Thanks in advance!
