The easiest way I have found to post a link---

Book mark the thread---then go to 'book marks' and copy the link--

Then paste the link into the post---

Cherry staining is always a good discussion----I have my methods--but they don't seem to work well for other folks---so I keep my mouth shut----

So much of the skill in applying stain comes from experience and experimentation----

I had the same blotching effect on a piece I made for a friend, I used all oak, stained it with black cherry and had a lot of blotching. Guess I should have used a conditioner first.

My father was my inspiration for woodworking, wish he was still around for more advice. Luv ya Dad.

I don't have time to go into details atm but look into using a wash coat with shellac and sanding it down with like a 320 and then using danish oil and seal... it's beautiful!
