hard wood floor

i plan on installing 3/4 wallnut floor but i have an issue with face nailing the edges. can i use pl400 with a 1/4 trowl? is there a special glue? will i have to put weight on the edges? i really don't want to face nail

I would say not to adhesive on the subfloor, gluing T&G might be ok.
