I know, We all think they are junk with a capitol J.
However...............
I bot a sack o' the 12"ers when they were on sale fer $!.99.
I knew what i was gitin into coz i broke one with very little effort in the store.
When i saw how/where it broke i imediately came up with a fix.
This little post on the side plate rides in a 'cup' in the trigger. And it is actualy what breaks on 'em. It snaps right off with not much effort.

What i did was buy a sack o' small machine bolts, washers and lock nuts.

I then drilled out the center of both posts on the side plates.

Installed the 1 1/4" machine bolt with wahsers and lock nut.
Good to go ....................so far.

So, i got me 8 12" clamps fer $1.99 each plus $1.80 for the hardware to reinforce 'em. Not to shabby.
They aint heavy duty or nothin but they sure work for lighter duty in the shop.
If one o' these breaks on me. I'll redrill a hole big 'nough thru side plates and trigger to replace the 'cups' and the posts with the appropriate sized machine bolt and see how that goes.
