Hall Cabinets

My latest project was to replace doors on a bank of built-in cabinets in a hallway. There are 5 large lower doors and 5 small upper doors. They were originally poorly painted plywood.

I made the shaker-style replacements using hard maple for the rails and styles and maple veneered plywood for the inset panels.

Well done. Hard to keep doors that large flat, but seems you did. Also did a great job staining, at first glance I thought they were cherry. Are the doors rabbeted inset, the edges look thin which is a nice look. Whats holding them closed? I also like the hardware.

Looks great.

The finish is water based aniline dye topcoated with high gloss varathane and final coat satin gloss varathane.
Hardware is from Lee Valley.

Thank you for the kind words. No I'm not a pro - I just take my time with this hobby.
