I will never forget the copy machine with a large warning sign, "Please do not perform the following as illustrated under the below."
We can't fix the world, but I know that I could do a much better job writing instruction sheets, user manuals, and other documentation than the people who actually wrote them. I still wonder why there isn't a huge market for skilled English speakers to help write better user manuals and instruction sheets for the US and other English-speaking markets.
It is apparently not worth the cost to write decent instructions and user manuals. The problem is that failure to provide decent instructions can result in higher costs for customer support and returned products. Just sayin'.
