Green wood/ stairs

I have some freshly milled Cyprus 3x12x8' to make planks for stairs. I ran them through the plainer on all four side for a smooth finish. I love how they came out. I'm thinking it would be nice to make them a tad darker especially to see the grain. The issue is they will rot if I seal them, but they will stain and go bad if I don't at least darken them a little to hide dirt.

I was told ipe or teak oil will help and let them breath to still dry out. Another guy said Danish oil but watco brand it says right on the front that it seals inside the wood.

The teak oil looks pretty good but a little darker would be great. It hasn't dried yet, but the oil really makes the grain pop out more.

What can I use to darken the wood without sealing it. I may play with some pigments, I thought of concrete powder pigment, maybe something natural like plant based or something and mix into the teak oil.

The teak oil is on the left in the picture. The others are minwax stain pens, I'd like to get closer to the cherry floors.

Yuk .......

None of those stains look like any wood I would want to have.

I'd go for something with more brown in it, just me though.

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)

I agree, they were just the pens that fix my floors.
