Galvanized sheeting on walls

1. If I place galvanized sheeting on a bath room wall like a back splash, what could I spray on it to help stop or minimize the patina effect.....

2. If I wanted to use MARINE Plywood on the floor, are there any known ill effects from having this inside of a home.... similar to the warnings about putting treated lumber in the house.

Thank you.

it's got a zinc coating

It needs special prep to apply a "painted" finish even a clear coat. Here's how:

If aged/oxidized over 1 year it's less of an issue:

If you just want to leave the material raw, it will require wiping down after splashing with water or tooth paste etc. It will be a high maintenance surface. Wax may help, buffing will bring out a high gloss if you want that.

Marine plywood is just made with a waterproof glue. No ill effects from that. bill

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)
