forstner bits

I've tried fuller brand and Canadian tire brand forstner bits and neither seemed to work too well. Is there another brand someone can recommend. The Canadian tie brand looked like they had been used already they were so dull and chipped. I even checked other packages and they all looked the same. Thanks.

Colt Maxi-Cut. Not cheap, but they cut the best.

I bought a set of MLCS Forstners. Then I bought the fill-in set (1/16's). Then I bought a big 3" (or 3 1/2, I forget) to cut recesses for the works on the back of some clocks I made. They all have cut well.

Now I am sure that the MLCS bits are not of the quality of the ones mentioned above, but like their router bits, they are a great bang for the buck.

The Wave-Cutter by Fisch are best ones I've ever used.

I do not prize the word "cheap." It is not a badge of honor...it is a symbol of despair. Cheap prices make for cheap goods; cheap goods make for cheap men; and cheap men make for a cheap country. ~ William McKinley
