First Attempt At Drawers

What we have here is my first attempt at building drawers. The caliper is showing the total clearance with the other side of the drawer pushed against the side. Essentially I made the box about 1/16th too wide. I am using side mount full-extension slides requiring 1/2'' per side clearance. I have no knowledge of these whatsoever. Do you think 1/16" over will or will not work. I don't know how much wiggle room, if any, you are allowed.

Also, let's say the box needs some modification, what would be your method. My idea was using the router table and dado out 1/16" on a side.

Actually, it's best to allow " plus 1/32" for each side (17/32"). You wind up with 1/16" extra overall, which you may need for final shimming. When I've done that, I just make a pass or two on the table saw.

I like the idea of a pass or two across the router table.
