Finishing Bottom of Slab

Hello - I'm working on a slab of wood that will be used as a bat top - I'm using stain and a wood sealer and was planning on an epoxy top. My question is what I should do with the bottom of the slab ? Do you recommend just leaving the sealer as the final coat or should I do a coat of poly ? I can't epoxy it, nor would I want to - Anybody have thoughts on this ? Thank you in advance.

The underside just needs to be sealed so moisture from the air can't get to it and cause warpage.

IF you don't seal both top and bottom the moisture effects is more prone to cup or bow the top depending on rather the MC increases or decreases as the 2 sides absorb and expell moisture at different rates causing wood movement.
