Fine Woodworking Basics Class

I just enrolled in an Adult Education Fine Woodworking Basics class at a local County Technical School. I had no idea that courses like this were available at night and it's basically on my way home from work.

Class Description: Learn the fundamental woodworking skills such as joinery, setups and various fabrication techniques while constructing a beautiful shaker style nightstand of solid oak. Students use different machines, portable power tools as well as hand tools common to the home workshop. Beginners as well as experts are welcome. Materials included.

I believe this is the right step for someone like myself who is just getting into woodworking.

it'll be like a high school shop class. you'll start with learning to sharpen chisels, build a box and then move on to machinery.

if you don't know this stuff, yeah, it's the beginning.

have fun!
