Epoxy finishing

SO I am continuing working on my live edge end tables. All kind of a learning project for the live edge tv stand I will be making form the big piece of the same slab.

Couple questions.

I have sanded the piece down to 1000 grit. I will wet sand down to 2000 before applying finish. However I am noticing the epoxy is fairly cloudy. I assume some of this is dust. What can I use to remove some of the fine dust? Would a rag with mineral spirits do the job? I have tung oil but I think that's more of a finish right?

I will be using an Arm_R_All oil based finish to darken it up and protect but was planning to also use an oil based polyurethane over the top of that. Is that the right way to go? I have kids so it is likely going to get some dings and I figure the poly will protect more than just the oil based finish.

Total newb so open to ideas. Thanks

Well I guess that didn't get much love. Went ahead and figured it out. Washed the wood with mineral spirits after wet sanding down to 1000. The put the Arm-R-Seal on and think it looks really good. They recommend three coats so two more to go. Then the plan may be to put polyurethane over the top, which is what I had originally hoped people would help me consider.

PS I still have no idea why the site is flipping my images when I post them. Hey are correct on the rest of my computer.

I don't use Arm-R-Seal and I've never used polyurethane in 40+ years of doing finishing so I can't help you on that. I use Nitrocellulose lacquer for almost everything and French polish a few things.

Often the viewer, either native to the OS or separate software app, will automatically rotate photos so they look right on your computer when they are indeed rotated 90 from where you want them (I'm assuming a Windows OS).
