Dust collection question
New to this site and woodworking. I need to add dust collection to my workbench for hand-held router work. Dust collection works ok for smaller round over bits but not with my raised panel bit.

What type of raised panel bit are you using in a hand held router? It sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

Do you mean you want to add a dust collection system to a router table. Confused you said to your work bench with a hand held router. Are you cutting raised panels with a hand held router please explain further

If I read this correctly and you are using a hand held router with a raised panel bit this is extremely dangerous . Please explain this post so we can help you.

On the contrary. I tried a router table during a cabinet class at WoodCraft and the hand-held safety base and fixture at an open house at Kencraft where I buy my hardwoods. Thanks for your concern. With that being said, I appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Me either..
But let's just make some assumptions:
Don't use a hand held router with a large raised panel bit..too dangerous...no depth control. Router table only!
For reference the answer to any question will be only as good/useful as the information you provide....sizes, brand of machines, HP ..etc. You have provided none of that so, we don't really know what you are asking. The more specific your information the better the answer.....everytime.
Dust collection off the bench can be done with something like this from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000223WV/ref=asc_df_B0000223WV1372129?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=pg-903-95-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395093&creativeASIN=B0000223WV

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)
