Acacia table

Hi
I have an acacia table (from Ishka in Australia). Apparently the acacia is from India. I want to make the color richer, but still show the grain. Do I sand acacia the same as other wood? Or is there some other product I can use to strip original finish off? The original finsih looks fairly clear with a matt finish.
Thanks
Anita

You can do it either way. Your preference. If you want to strip, try kleen strip or stripeze... If you use a strong chemical stripper, make sure to neutralize it and wear gloves and safety. glasses as well as a respirator (not just a dust mask).

I would also wear the same gear if sanding. Some people have severe allergies to acacia wood, and you wouldn't want to find that out the hard way!
