4" outside exhaust

I'm having my coal shute access replaced w/glass block w/ a 4" vent.

Is there a fan and/or exhaust hood set up that someone has written about here?

I'm thinking of a 4" dryer hose attached to a suspended hood, maybe 24x4.

Other ideas?

for maximum flow, use galvanized round ducting. you may need the flexible stuff for a connection, but the ridges in flex stuff really cuts down on flow.

one of our bath fans went into screech mode - replaced with this one - much much quieter. note the blade is 4.5 inches diameter you'll need to adapt the 'housing'
