What is the reasoning behind this? I have a second account that I forgot the password for. The reason for the 99 in my current user name was so it was a different name that the forum would let me use.

To tell you the truth I don't know. I will report the post so maybe someone else can give you an answer. It's part of the club rules.

The best reason I can think of is I saw a thread a few weeks ago of a guy selling T track, and he created several accounts to leave himself a positive feed back.

Likely to keep as many user names free as possible. The more accounts made and abandoned by people the fewer free user names there are for new members. From a technical perspective there's probably database issues cause by higher numbers of entries, e.g user names, in said database causing slowdown or overly-large file sizes.

Don't quote me on that, its been a long time since my comp-sci classes...

OK, according to Cricket, it's to keep everything on the up and up. If someone had multiple accounts if there was a vote on some issue or there was a contest or giveaways it would give that person an unfair advantage. There just isn't a reason to have multiple accounts. She said if someone has opened more than one account she can combine them.

For one thing it keeps everything on the up and up. If one person has multiple accounts they have an unfair advantage in random drawings for giveaways etc as they can enter from multiple accounts. It is no different with sites like Facebook, etc. There simply is no reason to have more than one account.

If they have forgotten an account password I can recover it for them or if they already have created another account I can combine them.

How can I keep from getting threads or posts on my personal email? Instead of opening them all the time, I find it better to go to the website and look at all the thread and posts instead of a few. Thanks.

I had started a thread titled "Is woodworking all about tools?" on 1/10/2016. This was made a featured thread by the administrator. The thread is open, but now I find I can't post a message to it. Please help. Thanks.:smile3:

Nope. I tried again, and it gives the following message:

Jig_saw, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

"

This never happened with all the other threads I have posted. Thanks.

@Jig_saw, I think I may have found the issue. Can you try again now?

Try logging out and back in again, please.

If that doesn't work, maybe clear your cookies?

I'm having a devil of a time with my photo album. I uploaded one photo and all was well. However all other photos that I upload are sideways....am I doing something wrong?

It isn't anything you are doing wrong, for some reason some photos will flip sideways like they did for you. Usually when one of us mods see a photo sideways, we will correct it.

By the way, I love that pen you made it is really nice.
