Moderated posts for new members
I can't find any mention in the rules or FAQs that posts for new members are moderated although I suspect that's the case on this forum as it's a fairly standard practice.
I was wondering how long moderation usually takes. I posted a reply last weekend to a thread I started (https://www.woodworkingtalk.com/f8/r...binets-215401/) and then posted it again yesterday (around 1pm PST) but it hasn't appeared.
Is there a problem with my post or the site? Or does moderation usually take a while?
Of course, this thread and post may not appear as it may need to be moderated too.
Thanks.

Shimon - I went through the thread you mentioned and I do not see
where your posts were moderated or deleted. I have no idea why
your posts did not stick.
after the very first post of a member, any additional posts do not fall into
the moderated status - it goes directly to the forum and stays there unless
there was an issue of advertisement or spam of some kind, which I doubt
very seriously pertains to your thread. moderated or deleted posts fall into
a trash bin that Admin keeps forever. nothing is ever discarded.
if you experience any issues in the future, please bring it to our attention right away.

Thanks, John.
I'll try for a third time and let you know if the problem persists.

I just checked, it is still there. If you hit "New Posts" and no one has posted on the thread it will not show up. You will have to go to "Forums" and look in "Finishing" then find your thread and click on it.

The problem was not that I couldn't find the thread...it was that my new posts to the thread were not showing up. I just posted a new post to the thread (third time) and it worked this time. Didn't do anything different. But doesn't matter now because it appears to be working. Thanks.

I saw the first two moderated posts today and just deleted them since your post from today was the same and it 'took'. Often a new member's posts go into moderation when they attach a photo or post a link. But I think when you get over a certain number of posts, 15-20ish maybe?, then the posts go as planned. If there's an algorithm I haven't seen or heard anything about it. Just keep posting and it will begin working just fine.
