Cant post pictures

I am still new here and I have been having problems posting pics. I have to restart my computer EVERY TIME I try posting pictures here. I have managed a few pics but now no way.
I post on a few other forums too and have no problems at all. Only this forum.
I have a hp Pavvillion. Using Widows 7.
I am not sure what to do..........

I know how to post pictures, my problem is that when I try to post pictures now my computer will "lock up" and I have to restart the computer. When the window opens for me to "browse" I select browse and the computer locks up.
I have posted successfully in the past but now for some reason not at all. I post on two different Metal Detecting sites and a Trapping site and have no problems there.
Probably something that I have to do to my computer but I dont know what.

I can build an extention table but I cant figure this computer out.....

What browser do you use - Internet Explorer, FireFox etc.

Have you installed any additional add ons to your browser recently? This is often the case when "something worked before but not now".

It sounds like the picture size is too big. My camera will take a picture 4'x6' and if I don't resize it to a normal size the computer will lock up.

I use internet explorer. All of my pictures get sized to 750 pixles.
I am going to try a few things and report back later.

Thanks for the help.

The picture, resized, above loaded great. I went to product showcase to update a post with three pictures "resized" and I just had to restart my computer. It locks up and I cant do a thing but restart.
When the little window pops up and I hit "BROWSE" to select a resized picture from my documents, the computer will only "bing" at me no matter what key I hit.
I will have my wife "the smart one" take a look at my computer tonight to see if there is something I am missing.

I tried posting pictures again last night. I ended up restarting my computer three times. Not sure why, but posting pictures here is not an option for me.
I am able to post pics on other sites with no problem.

Was the picture a jpeg file? If so what was the file size?

I will see if I can get some better help. I'm not good with computers.

Yes, the file is a jpeg. I sized the pics to 500 pixel on the long side. Same as described above happens.
I am a member of two Metal Detecting forums and post pics regularly with no problems. I also post on a trapping forum with no problems.
This site is really slow too. It takes 30 or so seconds for pages to load. Not with the other forums or web sites.
I am guessing that there is some kind of setting on my computer that is wrong?? I will keep messing arround and trying........

When is the last time your JAVA and Flash got updated. That might solve some problems.

Sounds like you are doing thing correctly. Just doesn't sound like your computer is playing nice with the forum.

I hate IE. I think it's one of the worst browsers available. You may think differently.

Why don't you try using a different browser. I personally like Firefox. A lot of others like Chrome. I don't know many who use IE unless they are forced to like when you have to update the system on MS website.
