Auto space formatting?

When I reply to a thread, this site "automatically" adds another line of space between paragraphs. I double space between paragraphs, but the site triple spaces and I need to go back and edit out the extra space. PITA.

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specific. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo that illustrates your issue. (:< D)

That's been addressed before but I'm not certain what the issue is - could be browser settings, site settings, operating system, ...

I know that it doesn't do that for me regardless of browser - Edge, IE, Chrome - or forum site settings - Full, Classic, or Mobile. Have you tried different browsers, forum settings, etc.?

What worked for me:

User CP > Edit Options > Miscellaneous Options

Set message editor interface to "standard" and forum skin to "classic".
woodnthings and difalkner like this.

I'm with David - on a laptop with Win-7 & Chrome.
no issues other than my own bad spelling and grammar.

Happens with Chrome and Firefox on both Windows 10 computers

I changed my edit settings per Dr. Robert's suggestion. Hopefully that works!

Here's my test sample. Mostly great advise here from great folks. Lots of new folks have joined recently. Probably the lockdown situation and people are bored from staying at home.
I hit (single space return/enter) button. So, we'll see how that comes out on the Submit Reply.
(single space return/enter again)
Thanks.

Well, that's interesting. There are no spaces between lines now, even after using the return/enter key? The type warps to the next line as it should, just no spaces between them. Now it double spaces between paragraphs. Like below here......

Return key. 2X That left a single space! (but after posting, it's a double?) At least that's far better than going back to edit each time! I am in control now, not the site software. GREAT!

Looks like I am getting the same thing. This is on Firefox.
