They still have sitcom's? Most of what I see today are more sexual inuendo with just a little comedy thrown in. Usually end up on National Geo or History. Otherwise watch woodworking shows when watching tv.

Everybody Loves Raymond was not funny to me till 5 years ago, when I got married. Now it is one of the funniest out there. 2 1/2 men is funny but with kids in the house I don't watch it, they take it a little too far for my kids.....

I have to agree with drcollins most of tv is alot of garbage trying very hard to be funny. Seinfeld was funny and I like reruns of Frasier otherwise its woodworking shows for me,but there just aren't enough of them. Mash was also one of the best on tv.

That is where you start to see the humor in it fully when you are married and watching it. Frank and Marie are definetly my parents. That is where I was seeing the humor right away. If you want to go back some years. I liked MASH, the stooges, F-Troop. I can go on for a while about the good shows. some of the old black and whites were the best.

DR... yeah, they still have them. They're found on TVLand... Andy Griffith, Lucy, Beverly Hillbillies, Leave it to Beaver, etc...

I find my tv stops on Discovery, DIY, TVLand, and the History channel most of the time. I've tried to watch the new shows, but they are the most brain numbing things in the world. Who needs drugs when you can have your brain numbed by these shows? Especially the so-called "reality" shows...

I cut that board three times and it's STILL too short!!!...

I really liked Seinfeld and Frasier when they were on, but haven't watched a sitcom regularly since.

Anyone seen The Red Green Show (Canadian)? That's a good one, but I don't get a chance to see it often.

I'm with the group that generally lands on History Channel, Discovery, etc. When there's nothing else to watch, I park the tuner on the Weather Channel (Heather Tesch paints my wagon!)....

I have a buddy, same age as me (40-ish), and he never misses an episode of Family Guy, Simpsons, South Park, and one or two other of those lame-a$$ crude sophomoric attempts at humor. He yells at his kids to leave the room, get their homework done, etc etc, then begs me to stay and watch Family Guy, I'll love it, he swears.

I've tried to suffer through an episode with him, and I can't do it. I got a helluva sense of humor, but how any grown man can subject themselves to that idiocy is beyond me. I guess it's a reflection of one's character, perhaps, but I'd rather be improving my mind.

regards,
smitty

I'm not sure if cartoons count, but I've always liked "The Simpsons" and "King of the Hill."

Depending on my mood, if I wanted to watch actual actors, then "Frasier" or "Married with Children" (hows that for a contrast).

Whatever I watch, though, its gotta be recorded or on DvD. I just hate commercials, and if I cant skip those somehow I just walk away.

Personally, I don't have the time, nor the desire to watch T.V. I find that anything on is usually crap. I you have a satellite dish, then you have 500 channels of crap.
So, if I had to choose, I would say that my favourite sitcom is Woodworking Talk . com. There is plenty of humour, mixed with a sense of reality that everyone can relate to. A real ratings winner!! Unlike television, when I check out this sitcom, I come out of it feeling like I have gained something.
Sounds corny, I know, but it's true.

That's funny, when there is nothing on, my wife will turn on the "old school" channel guide on 99. She'll just watch it FOREVER! Here we spent thousands on all the most advanced HD television stuff on the planet, digital guides, TIVO and the like and she tunes into the TV Guide "Channel Guide".
